My favorite part of May is enjoying the many culminating events that take place around our campus.  Students will be recognized and awarded for their work in academics, strong attendance, their leadership and citizenship skills, their school and community involvement, and their Panther Pride.  Performances and celebrations will take place.  Scholarships will be awarded.  Probably the most exciting:  Diplomas will be handed out on May 31st.  Graduation from high school is the true concluding event and main goal for ALL of our students.

May is a time I often reflect on how special our district is.  Ludlow is unique in that we are able to watch our children stumble through the formative years of elementary school and then grow into a young adult all on the same campus.  We have the luxury of watching our kids grow up right before our eyes.  Our kindergarten students move on to the first grade.  The transition from elementary to middle school awaits our 6th graders.  For our 8th graders, there is only a slight adjustment to high school.  Finally, we will also say farewell to our LHS Class of 2018.  The memories made during these transitions remind me how amazing it is to be a part of this district and community.

While the end of the year brings a little sadness, these celebrations, recognitions, awards, and fun activities make May such a wonderful month.  Enjoy it!
