Every Student, Every Day

Our Leadership Team worked this summer to focus our mission statement to this simplified vision:  Every Student, Every Day.  It summarizes our mission, recognizing the fact that as educators, we must seize every opportunity we have with our students.  It is important to us to make sure that we are indeed reaching all students on a daily basis.  We realize how important every moment, every class discussion, every comment, and every lesson or activity is to ALL of our students.  To do this consistently on a daily basis may seem tough, but I know our dedicated staff is ready for this challenge.

With keeping our Every Student, Every Day vision in mind, we've enhanced or added some new things for the 2017-2018 school year.  Recognizing how critical it is to get students started earlier in their education, we now have full-day options for both Preschool and Kindergarten.  Last year, we started full-day kindergarten, and this year we've expanded to add the extended Preschool Program through our collaboration with Children, Inc.  Our Class of 2030 will be in our buildings for more hours of meaningful play and instruction, which will truly benefit them.  We've also been working to improve the technology tools offered to our students each day.  Our elementary classrooms will have more mobile labs to use so teachers can enhance student learning and engagement.  Our core content high school teachers will have full sets of chromebooks available for student use every day, which will change the way our classes are taught.  I am excited to see how this new technology transforms learning for our students.  These new tools will certainly enhance the implementation of our new math curriculums, Go Math in the elementary, and Carnegie Learning in Grades 6-12.  These summer improvements and projects have kept us all busy, but we know that they will all impact our Panthers in a positive way.

We welcome all parents/guardians to be active members of your child’s education and participate in all of the activities planned throughout the school year.  I know that great things will occur during the 2017-2018 school year for every student, every day.

As always, please feel free to contact me at 859-261-8210 or mike.borchers@ludlow.kyschools.us if you have any questions, concerns, or feedback.
