In chapter one I learned about climate zones. It is important to learn about climate zones if you are planning on going somewhere or going on a vacation and need to know what temperature it might be that day. Also in chapter one I learned about a map scale and what it is. You can use a map scale in your everyday life by measuring how far a place is from another place. For example if I wanted to know how far away Florida is from Kentucky, I would use a map scale. It shows almost exactly how far away something is from you or anywhere else.

1. Economic activity in the world allows me to know where resources are and how to use them wisely. Economic activity can show me where to hunt, where to grow crops, and where to buy and trade goods. 2. Earth’s Climate zones help identify the weather situations around the globe. This is helpful for growing crops or for travel planning, or just to know how to dress appropriately for the weather.

I learned how to tell what time of the year it is by the hemisphere, such as if its winter here in the us, its probably summer/spring in Africa. I also learned what a population map is, it tells you the population density of a certain place is. Like in Africa they don't have a lot of people, but in Asia, they do! This is what i have learned in chapters 1 and 2, comment if you agree or disagree!

In chapter one I learned climate zones. You can use this in everyday life because say I wanted to move to South America. But I want to learn about the climate there. So climate zones can help. Because if you find out about South Americas climate zone you can find out about its climate. Another thing I learned in chapter one is how to use a map scale. This is important in everyday life because , if I was trying to find the distance of Ludlow to Cincinnati, on the map I would use a map scale to find that distance.
